The practice of conscious business offers approaches for individuals and organizations to become fully awake and engaged at work. According to Webster's dictionary, to be conscious is to exhibit "awareness of one's inner and outer worlds", to be mentally perceptive, awake, and mindful. This applies to all areas of our lives, but is particularly challenging in our careers and businesses. Many of us feel pressure over deadlines and anxiety over the results of our efforts. We have all built up a lifetime of habits related to our pattern of thought around work. Becoming conscious allows us to find deeper meaning and satisfaction by shifting old patterns and developing skills for more effective engagement. Conscious Business is the "essence of awake or mindful work" and offers methods for creating high-impact organizations and individuals who are deeply engaged, committed to excellence, and making a difference in the world.
